Walking and Expanding Duels in Undead Fortune

The heart of Undead Fortune is the way it upgrades the DuelReels mechanic with Walking duels and Expanding duels. Landing a Walk VS symbol triggers a Walking duel: the symbol becomes a wild reel, shows a monster and a multiplier between 2x and 200x. If the monster is defeated, that multiplier applies to the whole reel and to any win passing through it. Multiple Walking duels in one win have their multipliers added together first.

Defeating the monster in a Walking duel also awards a respin, with the expanded wild reel stepping one reel to the left unless blocked by another duel or the edge. At the new position a fresh fight plays out, with another chance to upgrade the multiplier and gain another respin. New Walk VS symbols can appear during these respins, so now and then you can chain several walking reels and land some very explosive lines.

Expanding DuelReels work slightly differently. The green Expand VS symbol can land on reels 2, 3, 4 or 5, only one at a time. When it hits, it turns wild, fills its reel, shows a monster and a multiplier between 2x and 200x. Win the duel and that multiplier is saved, then the duel grows one reel to the left and a new monster appears. Each successful step adds another multiplier to the stack before it finally pays out.

When duels trigger, the tempo lifts and you get sharp stabs of sound that help sell the fights. Personally I tend to play this one with the lights on, as the atmosphere can be pretty heavy compared with most Egyptian slots, yet that suits the feature set nicely.
