Visually and mechanically it all fits, and when the gorilla finally goes mad the game has real punch.

That said, the structure will not suit everyone. Collecting 30 coins per Evolution stage can feel like hard work, especially with no bonus buy to shortcut the process. Some sessions you hit an upgraded Primate Wild early and enjoy a stream of medium wins, other times you plough through spins with very little to show for it. The free spins round is short on paper, so a dud trigger stings more than usual.

For my money, Primate King Megaways is worth a seat when I am in the mood for a progressive, sticky-wild experience that can suddenly erupt. The max win of 30,000x might be more theory than everyday reality, but the combination of Life Points, growing multipliers and symbol removal gives the slot enough depth to keep me coming back for the odd jungle session when I fancy staring down an angry ape.
