A grinning space monster has nicked their hard-earned loot, so the birds strap on space suits and chase it to a floating station. The whole slot plays out on that station, with planets and asteroids drifting behind the grid.

Instead of reels, Pirots 4 runs on ELK's CollectR engine across a 6x6 grid that can expand to 8x8. Four birds roam the tiles, gobbling coloured gems and feature symbols, then new symbols drop in from above. It feels closer to a chaotic arcade game than a standard slot, full of clashes, black holes, portals and coin drops, all circling that tasty 10,000x max win.

Theme, Audio and Visuals in Pirots 4

The base version of Pirots 4 drops you onto a metallic space station hanging over a blue void, with a red planet and floating rocks adding depth. The parrots wear bulky space suits and pull exaggerated faces as they scoot about, which gives the whole thing a cartoon feel. I rate the sound highly, with a tense sci-fi score humming away while zaps, explosions and clanks mark every feature.

Frozen Fury and Inferno re-skin Pirots 4 without touching the CollectR core. Frozen Fury shifts the grid to an icebound world ruled by a Yeti that freezes birds and doubles a multiplier when it strikes, while snowballs can smack Corner Bombs into action. Inferno heads the other way, with Fire Minions setting birds ablaze so they leave trails of gems or coins, and Charlie turning the whole grid into chaos.

RTP, Stakes and Volatility in Pirots 4

On the numbers side Pirots 4 is not for the faint-hearted. The RTP sits at 94%, below the usual 96% mark, and the volatility feels high, with an advertised hit rate around 25%. Stakes go from 0.20 up to 100 per spin in most versions, though I find smaller bets work best here. The theoretical max win is 10,000x the stake, but hitting anything near that takes grit and patience.

CollectR Mechanic and Symbols in Pirots 4

CollectR drives everything in Pirots 4. Four birds sit on the 6x6 grid and collect adjacent coloured gems that match their own colour, plus any feature symbols they touch. When a bird eats a cluster, those symbols vanish and the column collapses, then fresh symbols fall in. Each gem colour has seven payout levels, so grabbing Upgrade or Upgrade All symbols early can turn modest chains into serious coin wins.

The main symbol pool is tight but busy. You have four gem colours, wilds that stand in for any gem at its current level, standard scatters and super scatters, plus coins, Transform, Spacecorn, Black Hole and Alien Invasion icons. Coins just pay their marked multipliers, with a Max Win coin finishing the job if you are close enough. Spacecorn and Black Hole, in particular, can completely reset a dead board.

Bonus Features in Pirots 4

Bonus Features in Pirots 4 kick off with the Collection Meter and a cluster of grid tricks. Every gem and wild a bird collects fills the meter; when it maxes out you bank a pending feature symbol release, up to three at once. When no more moves exist, those releases drop random feature symbols onto the grid. Corner Bombs sit on each corner, blowing 3x3 patches, expanding the grid and opening tunnels or portals.

Bird behaviour adds another layer. Two adjacent birds can trigger a Switcheroo, swapping places to grab fresh symbols, while groups of three or more can cause a Power Clash that wipes a 5x5 area and sends them flying across the grid, hoovering up specials. Charlie's Extra Chance sometimes fires when a round seems done, randomly lighting up one to four Corner Bombs for another symbol drop. These little jolts often turn borderline spins around.

Collecting three scatters triggers the Bonus Game in Pirots 4, giving five free drops with your grid size, meter progress and gem levels carried over. Extra scatters add more spins, and the X-iter menu lets you buy straight into chosen modes, including the Super Bonus on an 8x8 grid where every upgrade hits all gems. Clear the board during Spacecorn and you move to Lost in Space, while Alien Invasion brings Space Bandit duels and a spaceship multiplier.

Final Thoughts on Pirots 4

Final Thoughts on Pirots 4 from my sessions are very positive, with one caveat. The game is packed with moving parts, so new players may feel lost during the first few grids, and the 94% RTP means cold spells sting. Once the features click, though, I find it gripping: birds brawling, grids expanding, coins piling up. For me it is the wildest and most entertaining entry in the series so far.
