Coin Quest 2 Slot Overview

Coin Quest 2 picks up where the original left off, only with a bigger 6x6 grid, sharper jungle visuals and far more going on each spin. I am still in that Aztec setting with step pyramids and stonework framing the reels, but the field feels more open and bright. Wins come from landing at least five matching symbols in a cluster, linked horizontally or vertically, so it plays more like a grid game than a line slot.

From the first few spins I could see Slotmill had kept the core engine but layered on features. Avalanches clear winning symbols, drop new ones and leave wilds behind, while every symbol fed into a revamped collect meter at the side. Coin symbols, Power Up masks, scatters and Super scatters all sit in the mix, feeding into free spins, Super Free Spins and chunky coin clusters that can suddenly swing a round.

Coin Quest 2 Slot Information

Technically, Coin Quest 2 runs 6 reels by 6 rows with no paylines, just cluster payouts. Stakes go from 0.20 up to 50 per spin, which suited both testing small strategies and pushing variance when I fancied a punt. Default RTP sits at 96.18% in standard play, with volatility rated high, and the game claims a 15,000x max win, so it is very much in that high risk, high reward bracket.

The symbol set mirrors the first Coin Quest but with a nastier Aztec twist. Low pays are coloured character tiles in blue, green, red and purple, while the premiums are skulls in the same colours. Hitting 16 or more low symbols brings around 9x to 15x the bet, whereas 16+ skulls land between 20x and 75x. Five symbol clusters are modest, but things escalate fast as you stretch those cluster sizes.

Coin Quest 2 Slot Features

Feature wise, Coin Quest 2 is packed. Every winning cluster disappears, then a wild drops into one of the empty spots before new symbols fall. At the same time each removed symbol counts as one step on the collect meter, which sits at 0/25 by default. Hitting 25 steps sprays extra wilds and coin symbols onto the grid; pushing it to 50 overcharges the meter, throwing even more wilds and coins around before it drops back.

Power Up symbols really shake rounds up. Meter Charge adds 5, 10 or 20 steps to the meter, then turns wild. Wild Mask sprays extra wilds on the grid, Coin Mask adds coin symbols, and both then change into wilds. Transform Mask selects one symbol type in view and converts it into another. Super Mask waits until no more wins land, drops coins, collects them with a multiplier, then becomes a single coin holding that total.

On top of that, there is the Fast Track menu and Burst Mode for when I am feeling impatient. Fast Track lets you buy into 1+ or 2+ Power Up spins, regular Free Spins, Super Free Spins or a gamble round that may award either bonus. Costs range from 5x to 500x the bet. Burst Mode strips away animations and just crunches rapid spins, handy when I am grinding the collect meter and coin clusters.

Avalanche in Coin Quest 2

Avalanche wins in Coin Quest 2 feel central to how the slot plays. Any time a cluster pays, those symbols vanish, wilds can drop into one of the cleared positions, and everything above tumbles down with new symbols falling from the top. All of these cascades count as one paid spin, yet every symbol removed still contributes steps to the collect meter, so long avalanche chains are exactly where the slot starts getting interesting.

Collect Meter in Coin Quest 2

The collect meter sits to the right of the grid, ticking up with every symbol cleared. In the base game you start at 0/25 each spin, so you usually need a few consecutive avalanches to reach the first trigger. Hitting 25 steps adds wilds and coin symbols to random positions before the meter drops by 25. Reaching 50 steps overcharges it, awarding a stronger wave of wilds and coins, then cutting the meter back by 50.

In free spins the meter becomes the heart of the bonus. Spins triggered by scatters still use the 25 step cycle, but now every time the meter fills it not only drops coins and wilds but also nudges a progressive win multiplier up by one. What I really like is that neither the meter nor that multiplier reset during the feature, so long rounds can build into some very punchy clusters.

Free Spins in Coin Quest 2

Regular Free Spins in Coin Quest 2 arrive when three scatters land, paying 8 spins with that progressive multiplier attached to the collect meter. Every time you hit 25 symbols, extra coins and wilds drop in and the multiplier increases by one, never resetting during the round. A +1 symbol can appear to add an extra spin, while landing a Super Scatter during the feature upgrades the bonus and throws in four extra spins.

Super Free Spins are where the game gets spicy. You either trigger them straight from the base with two regular scatters plus a Super Scatter, or upgrade into them from the standard bonus. You still get 8 spins, but now any coins that are not part of a win slide down to the bottom and stick there, ready to join later clusters. You cannot land more scatters, though the +1 Spin symbol can still appear.

Coin Quest 2 Slot Conclusion

I came away from Coin Quest 2 feeling Slotmill had genuinely sharpened an already strong title. The extra row, larger grid and reworked collect meter make the gameplay denser without turning it into a slog, and the Power Up masks keep base spins lively. I do miss the old random wild on every avalanche, but the richer meter, Super Free Spins and 15,000x cap make the trade off well worth a few rough patches.
